Good to know
“High” renders at 2× resolution (about 144 DPI), which is sharp enough for web use and everyday printing. Pick “Very high” for large prints or when you plan to crop.
Because the conversion runs in your browser, very large PDFs with hundreds of pages may take a while on slower devices.
What does a PDF to JPG converter do?
A PDF to JPG converter draws each page of a PDF as a picture and saves it as a JPG image file. You end up with ordinary images that open anywhere: phone galleries, WhatsApp, social media, slide decks, or upload forms that accept images but not PDFs.
Here the pages are rendered in your browser with PDF.js, the open-source PDF engine built into Firefox, and saved as JPG at 92% quality. Pages are drawn on a white background, so any transparent areas come out white. You can convert every page or only the ones you list.
Image quality settings explained
PDF pages are measured in points, and 72 points make one inch. The quality option multiplies that size: Normal is 1.5×, High is 2× and Very high is 3×. That gives these image sizes for the two most common page sizes:

Very high has four times as many pixels as Normal ((3 ÷ 1.5)² = 4), so its JPG files are much larger. File sizes also depend on the page itself: a busy photo page produces a heavier JPG than a page of plain text.
Worked example: one page from a certificate PDF
You have a 3-page PDF and an online form wants page 2 as an image. Type 2 in the Pages box, leave High selected and click Convert to JPG. Because only one page is selected, it downloads directly as a JPG named after your file with “-page-2” added. For an A4 page the image measures 1191 × 1684 pixels.
Leave the Pages box blank instead and all 3 pages are converted and packed into one ZIP file. A thumbnail of each page, with its file size, appears under the options so you can check the results before downloading.
Tips for better JPGs
- High is usually enough for text you will read on a screen. Save Very high for printing or cropping, since the files are much bigger.
- If a form has a strict limit such as 100 KB or 200 KB, convert at Normal and then shrink the JPG with an image compressor or resizer.
- JPG is a lossy format, so very fine lines and tiny text can show slight artefacts. Pick a higher setting rather than re-saving the same JPG repeatedly.
- Text in a JPG can’t be selected or searched. Keep the PDF as your master copy.
- Fix sideways pages in the PDF first so the images come out upright.
- For long PDFs, convert in batches using ranges (
1-20, then21-40) to keep the browser responsive.

How do I convert a PDF to JPG on my phone?
Open this page in your mobile browser, tap Select a PDF file and choose the PDF. A single page downloads as a JPG. Several pages arrive as a ZIP, which you can open in the Files app on iPhone or the file manager on Android to get the images out.
How do I convert a PDF to JPG without losing quality?
Text and vector graphics in a PDF have no fixed resolution, so a higher setting gives sharper images: Very high (216 DPI) keeps small text crisp. Scanned pages are different, because they are already images and can’t get sharper than the original scan.
Can I convert just one page of a PDF to JPG?
Yes. Type the page number in the Pages box, for example 4. You can also list several pages or ranges, such as 1, 3, 6-8. Leave it blank to convert every page.
What is the difference between JPG and JPEG?
None. They are the same image format; the shorter .jpg extension dates from older systems that allowed only three-letter extensions. This tool saves files with the .jpg extension, which every device and website accepts.
